Context
An industrial organization was experiencing planning disruptions and emergencies despite the use of SAP PP. Planners had little confidence in the MRP and compensated with parallel files.
Challenge
The volume of exceptions was high, the article parameters heterogeneous and some bills of materials/routings were not aligned with the shop floor. The causes were scattered between supply chain, methods, purchases and production.
Intervention
The intervention consisted in segmenting the materials, analyzing critical parameters, identifying high-impact inconsistencies and building a priorized remedial plan.
Deliverables
MRP diagnostic, critical matrix materials, data correction backlog, governance rules and monitoring indicators.
Expected result
The approach has restored an actionable reading of priorities: less system noise, better data responsibility and more structured review routines.
Points to Remember
- Prioritize by criticality, not by volume.
- Connect each data to an MRP impact.
- Create a sustainable review routine.
MRP reliability requires processing data, processes and planning practices together.
